Lighting golf facilities.
Driving range, practice greens, car park.

Anyone wanting to practise after work in autumn and winter is standing in the dark. With LED floodlighting, the driving range becomes an evening practice ground – along with the practice greens, paths and car park. Instead of basic site floodlights that dazzle and fail every few years, we design an installation that lights evenly, can be controlled and respects its surroundings.

Driving range

See the ball in flight.

To DIN EN 12193, at least 100 lx at the tee and 50 lx vertical. So that the ball does not vanish into the dark after a few metres, floodlights shine far into the outfield – for example 10 lx vertical up to 150 m.

Practice greens

Putting and chipping in the evening.

Even, glare-free light that reveals the line, slope and hole. A few floodlights with timer control are often enough instead of many site floodlights.

Paths & car park

Arrive and leave safely.

The Series 16 street light for the car park, access road and paths to the clubhouse – robust to IP66 and IK08, with optics that put the light on the area.

Nature & neighbours

Light only where it belongs.

Precise optics, warm white light, dimming and timer control. The lighting calculation shows in advance how much light reaches neighbouring properties and woodland edges.

Instead of site floodlights

Light that lasts for years.

The Series 12 LED floodlight delivers up to 170 lm/W, is rated IP66 and IK10, dimmable via 0–10 V and steplessly adjustable in tilt and side angle. Spare parts are available for 10 years after the end of availability – no buying replacements every year, no lights on all night.

If the facility already has masts, they can often be reused; floodlight masts should be structurally checked first. We supply matching new masts; foundations and civil works are carried out by a contractor of your choice.

What a lit golf facility delivers

  • More practice time on the range – after sunset and through the winter months
  • Evening lessons, taster sessions and corporate events after dark
  • Safe paths, car park and clubhouse access
  • Less maintenance than with basic site floodlights
  • Light only during opening hours and only as bright as needed

Frequently asked questions

Briefly answered.

How many lux does a driving range need?

To DIN EN 12193, at least 100 lx horizontal and 50 lx vertical at the tee, with a uniformity of 0.8. For the ball flight the outfield is also lit, for example with 10 lx vertical up to 150 m.

Can a putting green be lit too?

Yes. Practice greens are lit evenly and glare-free so that the line, slope and hole are easy to see. A few floodlights with timer control are often enough.

Does driving range lighting disturb the neighbours?

With precise optics, warm white light, dimming and timer control, the light largely stays on the facility. The lighting calculation shows in advance how much light reaches neighbouring properties.

What is better than site floodlights on a golf course?

LED floodlights with precise optics, a high protection rating and dimming. They light more evenly, dazzle less, last much longer and can be controlled by opening hours.

Who designs and supplies floodlighting for golf facilities?

TRiALED designs with DIALux to DIN EN 12193 and supplies LED floodlights, street lights and masts from one source. Foundations and civil works are carried out by a contractor of your choice.
