The most sustainable luminaire is the one you do not have to replace. That is why we build modular, design for long service lives and reuse whatever is still sound.
Whatever wears out or becomes technically dated can be exchanged on its own. Drivers sit on the outside and can be replaced, light modules in the trunking system can be swapped individually, and in the emergency luminaires the battery is a spare part, not a breaking point.
See the modular trunking systemOur luminaires are designed for long service lives: 100,000 hours at L80B10 means that after that time at least 90 per cent of the LEDs still deliver at least 80 per cent of their luminous flux. Aluminium housings carry the heat away – the single most important factor for service life.
What L80B10 meansBest of all is throwing nothing away: where the housing, suspension and wiring are sound, they stay and are converted to LED. Whatever has genuinely reached the end can be taken apart – aluminium, electronics and optics go their separate ways.
We keep spare parts available for ten years after a series has been discontinued. An installation built today therefore remains repairable long after the product has left the range. That is the difference between a luminaire you service and one you throw away.

When converting an installation we first look at what can stay. If housing, suspension and wiring are sound, a retrofit kit goes in – which saves material, installation time and cost compared with a complete new installation. Only where that will not work do we replace.
Luminaires that have reached the end of their life are waste electrical equipment and belong in separate collection, not in general waste. Because our luminaires are built to be dismantled, metal, electronics and plastic can be separated. Where a conversion produces a larger quantity of old equipment, we coordinate proper disposal as part of the project.
Good LED luminaires do more than save energy. They last. Work out for yourself how long that is in your operation.
