Intelligent lighting.
Lighting, sensors and app from a single source.

TRiALED manufactures intelligent LED lighting for industry and commerce: luminaires from our own production with presence and daylight sensors, light management via app and connection to building automation – as § 56 of Germany's GModG requires for non-residential buildings over 70 kW by the end of 2029.

Sensors

Light only when it is needed.

Presence detectors switch and dim according to use, and daylight sensors adjust near windows and rooflights. The sensors sit on the luminaire and network via Bluetooth Mesh.

Light management

Everything in one app.

Zones, scenes and schedules are set up via app and can be changed when usage changes. The Autani Energy Manager makes operating hours and consumption available for analysis.

Design

Simulate first.

With our own Sensora app we plan sensor positions and detection areas and simulate usage before installation. We calculate the lighting with DIALux.

Implementation

One contact.

Lighting audit, lighting design, luminaires, lighting control and installation from a single source – during operation and in stages.

§ 56 GModG

Mandatory for non-residential buildings over 70 kW.

Since 29 July 2026, Germany's Building Modernisation Act has required automatic lighting control by 31 December 2029 – appropriately zoned and with occupancy detection – in non-residential buildings whose heating, air-conditioning or ventilation system has a rated output of more than 70 kW. Planning the controls together with the LED retrofit saves a second round of work on every luminaire.

What intelligent lighting delivers

  • Presence-based switching and dimming in halls, aisles, offices and ancillary rooms
  • Daylight-dependent control near windows, skylights and rooflights
  • Zones and groups that can be adjusted via app when usage changes
  • Analysis of operating hours and consumption via the Autani Energy Manager
  • Connection to the building management system via BACnet/IP or Modbus TCP, agreed in the project
  • Retrofitting existing installations where the existing technology allows

Is your building affected?

Three questions are enough for a first assessment: non-residential building, more than 70 kW rated output, documented exemption. You will find the check and all details on § 56 in the guide.

Frequently asked questions

Briefly answered.

What is intelligent lighting?

LED lighting that adjusts automatically to usage and daylight: presence and daylight sensors switch and dim the luminaires, and a light management system brings zones, schedules and analysis together – at TRiALED, set up via app.

What is sensor-controlled lighting?

Lighting controlled by sensors: presence or motion detectors only switch the light on when an area is in use, and daylight sensors dim it when there is enough daylight.

How much does lighting control save?

That depends on occupancy times, daylight and zoning. In the worked example with 100 luminaires of 100 W each and 4,000 operating hours, controls saving an assumed 30 % cut electricity costs by around €3,000 a year – on top of the saving from LED. For your building, we calculate with your figures.

Is lighting control mandatory?

For non-residential buildings whose heating, air-conditioning or ventilation system has a rated output of more than 70 kW: yes. Under § 56 para. 6 GModG, automatic lighting control must be installed by 31 December 2029.

Who offers intelligent lighting from a single source?

TRiALED: LED luminaires from our own production in Germany, sensors and light management from Autani and Keilton, design with our own Sensora app and DIALux, installation and commissioning with one contact.

Can an existing LED installation be retrofitted?

Often, yes. The lighting audit shows whether sensors can be added or drivers need replacing. If an LED retrofit is due anyway, the most economical approach is to plan the controls at the same time.
